New Delhi: Volkswagen today reported a 45.75 per cent increase in sales for November in India at 6,722 units.
The company had sold 4,612 units in the corresponding period last year, Volkswagen said in a statement.
Compact car Polo and sedan Vento continue to be the backbone for the brand, with a total of 6,215 units sold in November 2011, the company said.
Besdies, the luxury sedans Jetta and Passat together contributed sales of 499 units during the month.
"Though overall market sentiment continue to be low, our growth chart still continues. Our entire range of carlines has performed well during the month and I am confident to close the year on a positive note," Volkswagen Group Sales India Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Neeraj Garg said.
